The Proton PhysiX is the newest addition to Storm’s Premier line, and it features the asymmetrical Atomic core that was used previously in the PhysiX and AstroPhysiX. The change for this ball comes by using the new NeX Solid cover that was also found on the Axiom. This aggressive solid coverstock is finished at 2000 Abralon, providing hook and traction for all styles of bowlers.
It’s really no surprise why the PhysiX and AstroPhysiX have been wildly popular ever since their respective debuts. After all, the PhysiX offers one of the shapeliest reactions available, and the AstroPhysiX follows it up with stellar performance when the pattern opens up, and more length and backend are required. But until now, there really hasn’t been a PhysiX truly suited for heavy oil. Well, consider the problem solved! The Proton PhysiX is here to give you traction and hook on virtually any heavy oil condition imaginable.
Firmly ensconced at the top of the Storm performance heap is the all-new Atomic Core. Yes, it officially boasts a 0.053 total differential in a 15 pound ball, and the rest of its prodigious oomph accepts credit from the strategically placed inlets surrounding the oval bolt and greater mass displacement along the z-axis creating an enhanced intermediate differential. With extreme amounts of power and dynamics, the PhysiX almost feels like cheating.
NRG has become a staple in Storm’s lineup of coverstocks for nearly a decade. It’s due time for an upgrade! NeX (Nano Extreme) is Storm’s earliest reading cover to date. NeX Solid was remarkably earlier hooking than NRG on any pattern, or any surface we tested it on. Our standardized durability and longevity tests showed NeX created 11% more entry angle and 9.6% more overall hook after 50 shots compared to a fresh NRG cover. Simply put, NeX gives more midlane read than ever WITHOUT sacrificing any backend! Wow.

Designed to create an angular motion in heavy oil, the VIP Affliction features Infusion™ HV Hybrid Reactive cover stock. It digs in the oil yet retains enough energy to continue with significant angle down lane. The 4000 Grit LSS finish provides more traction than a shiny pearl, but is not so dull to lose continuation.
The fast-spinning Affliction™ core has a low RG and substantial differential. This combination gives the bowler both stability and strength to pair with the clean and angular hybrid cover wrapped around it. This combination makes the VIP Affliction incredible for creating angle on transitioning heavy oil patterns.
WHEN TO USE:
Speed Dominant:  For speed dominant players, this is a strong enough core to allow comfort when creating angle. For speed dominant players the concern is all too often that creating angle is difficult because the ball wants to shoot through the breakpoint.  The low rg paired with a high diff will allow for greater speeds and more aggressive launch angles from speed dominant bowlers.
Balanced:  Balanced bowlers who like to create angle early in a block will love having the VIP Affliction in their bag.  Balanced bowlers sometimes end up “on the wrong side” of the higher rev rate players because they cannot shape anything enough early in the block.  The VIP Affliction fills this crucial spot in the bag of a competitive balanced player.
Rev Dominant: When the puddle in the middle is substantial, but you want to win the race to left, the VIP Affliction will do just that.  With just enough dig in the oil to allow rev dominant players to get left fast, the VIP Affliction is a great option for early transition when the oil is thick.
