Description

The first tape in the Russian fleet appeared on the oilcloth hat of sailors in 1857 and not later than 1872 on caps. Up to this point, sailor's caps on the group had arranged for the wounded letters and figures that were painted or applied yellow fabric. In the 70 years of the XIX century. The Russian Navy introduced a black unmanned cap with a ribbon, on which the name of the naval command and the ship was written. The exact size, the shape of the letters on the ribbons, as well as the ribbons, were approved for all the Russian Navy on August 19, 1874. The Soviet fleet on the Red Fleet tape was approved in 1923.

Special tape its cover Soviet sailors are a tape Guardships, approved with the Guardards label in 1943. The Tape Guard ships have the ribbon "Order of Glory" colored with alternating bands of orange and black colors corresponding to the colors of St. George's ribbon (there is an indicator of 1769, which says that colors: orange - the color of the flame and black - the color of the gunpowder).
In addition, the tape was used to hold in a windy state, on the cap on the head - a tape, the ends of which were connected around the neck (or the tape clamped the teeth). The length of the ribbon was more than today's capless, and was about 160 cm.
In Russia and the USSR, the fleet had a cap with a black and white top. The black cover worn in the cold season, with a white top in the summer. Since the white top is very easily contaminated, it began to be made in the form of an easily removable coating (a similar design has a white IUD casing) that can be quickly removed and rinsed.

Hi, we are an operating shop located in Tamaqua, PA.  We recently acquired a large collection of helmets and are slowly working through them to sell here on eBay.  Please do not contact us concerning what we have - we aren’t even sure yet!  We will be doing our best to accurately identify and describe each helmet but please keep in mind that we are not collectors of helmets so there may be some things we get wrong such as terminology or timeframe of manufacture/use.
Questions about the item: Please inquire before you bid, we would rather have you presented with the best information possible before you commit to purchase
Sizing: When we are able to identify a size we list it and, if applicable, picture it.  If there is no size listed and there is no picture of a size then we have no idea.
Shipping: We ship Tuesday through Friday only via UPS.  We do not combine shipping.  Why? While I use the term ‘we’, this is basically a one person operation. After each item is pictured it ie preemptively packed for shipment, in some cases of multiple wins I have to unpack and repack into one box that is larger.
Returns:  We accept returns if we have misrepresented an item only. We picture each item as well is required for its condition and the pictures are taken with the intent to make any issues look worse than they are.
Shipping outside of the USA - at this time we do not ship international. Asking us why or if we will make an exception will go unanswered.
