    This thing is brand new it was wraped when i got it, to be honest i am not sure what it is besides its obviously for a electronic hobbiest, for being old its never been used and very nice just to display..has 3 parts to it. A long solid rod, then 2 different  coils...its a lot like the secondary on a tesla coil thsts why i got it... to look into it and figure it out but i never had time... just trying to break even on the purchase and down size my collection of vintage instruments.
