Original USSR Russian Soviet Army/Airforce Garrison Cap
MVD Troop Hat?
Has red piping which usually meant artillery - but I'm not sure if that is correct for this hat.
Made of polyester and wool.
Has the original hat pin at the front which shows wings (maybe) and red and dark blue or black stripes with yellow around the top art.  It is pretty worn so it's hard to make out what all it is showing.
Unsure of it's size, as I could not find any markings on it to ascertain it's fit.
In the Soviet Union, the garrison cap is known as Pilotka (meaning pilot). The original cap was a part of the air force pilots' uniform in WW1. It was the most common type of cap used by the Red Army during WWII and after, until the 1980s. The pilotka was worn during the summer months and it continues to be worn in modern Russia. These pilotkas were made according to USSR army standarts and are in perfect condition. Garrison cap is also a great wear for people, who are fond of camping or like spending time laying on the beach. A great hat to add to any collection.
