Old Brass Antique1880 Henry Scott Com Eagle Metal Plate Providence Rhode Island

Description

Fresh from an estate in northern California is this unique piece of Rhode Island companies history. This plate was used In the Henry L Scott and Company wire testers. The company was sold after Henry Scott passed and then became known as Scott's Testers. They were used to test wire and textile products.
This is a beautiful Eagle plate that was in the middle of the gauge where the needle would point on the wire tester. The original testers are museum pieces from the 1800s and only a few are around. This has been well taken care of, is polished three dimensional with beautiful design and a shiny magnetic metal. Measures 5.5" x 6.25".
I have researched Henry L Scott on the Rhode Island Historical Society and have posted a few pictures of the family and company.
A wonderful piece of time gone by in Providence history to hang on your wall.

----SPECIFICALLY this item is a vintage untested and uncleaned little lamp, from a large collection of little lamps, i am certainly no expert on these, but i love the, check my other items for more, similar lamps. and look at my photos for condition as i show any problems i found. as Elli Buk collected a lot of medical and science items, it is likely that this may be connected to either of those fields.
