Here we have a General Radio Precision Wavemeter Type 224. It has a huge variable capacitor inside. The gauge reads Weston Thermo-Galvanometer Model 425. The unit measures 10 1/2" wide x 8 1/4" deep x 9 1/2" tall. It is housed in a wood box with a copper lining. This is an early 20th century high voltage knife switch.  Perkins brand.  Rated 50 ampere 600 volts.  Early bronze and copper construction.  Good quality mechanism.  Well machined.  Base appears to be high polish finished slate or black marble.
Condition is used.  Switch has been cleaned.  Pictures tell the story.  Works like new.  Very clean.  The knife receiving jaws are clean and grip tightly.  Missing hardware.  See pictures.
