Title:
Zuyah-Chee
Description:
Series 10931
Zuyah-Chee, Navaho child, Indian bldg. Concerning the early history of the Navaho not much is definitely known. He comes of Athabascan stock, and is closely related to the Apache as well as a number of tribes along the banks of the Mackenzie River in the North. The tribe since migrating to the Southwest has absorbed by contact with other tribes some of their characteristics. From the Pueblo Indian they undoubtedly learned the art of weaving. And have passed their instructors in the art, and with rude appliances picked up on the outskirts of civilization they have become expert silversmiths.
