Description
This is an original antique 1907 technical bulletin type catalog issued by the Westinghouse Electric and Manufacturing Company of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This bulletin covers the Electrostatic Voltmeter. The front cover indicates Circular No. 1130 and is dated September 1907. The front cover is titled:THE WESTINGHOUSE ELECTROSTASTIC VOLTMETER
This bulletin is 8 pages measuring about 7” x 10” and is illustrated with a couple halftones and drawings and has detailed information on these instruments manufactured by the Westinghouse Electric and Manufacturing Company. This catalog is an original antique issued by Westinghouse in 1907. The catalog has four holes for a ring binder punched neatly in the left margin and a minor light trace of a stain on one corner. This is an original antique issue of the Scientific American Supplement for August 17, 1901. This issue is 16 pages including the covers measuring about 16.25" x 11.25".
This issue is noteworthy since it contains a featured cover article illustrated with photos and drawings on soil testing equipment titled
Objects And Methods Of Investigating Certain Physical Properties Of Soils
. The front cover has a photo showing a Soil Hygrometer, an electrical apparatus used for determining the soluable salt content of soils and a centrifugal apparatus used for mechanical analysis of soils. This article explains the state-of-the-art in soil testing devices as it existed in 1901. .
Other content includes an articles on the Electricia electric automobile developed in France by M.C. Contal and another on the Congo River Stern Wheel Steamer Livingstone for missionary work in Africa. .
Scientific American was a leading science and technology publication of the 19th century which is still in print today. Each issue is a large over sized format richly illustrated with numerous engravings and photos.
These issues are original antiques published well over 100 years ago. There will typically be some toning of the paper from age as well as a few small nicks or chips on the edges but these issues are all 100% complete, solidly intact and in good to very good shape overall.
